“Knowledge is no good if all you do is collect it.” (Heidi-ism 29)
"Melbourne, Australia 2009. Heidi Everett defines her creed to the Music Network for mental health, where a musician is often discovered in the ruins of a shattered life. Her creative life was sparked as a busker on the streets of Frankston, but soon outgrew the shop doorways and dusty pavements. Everett also speaks openly about living on the edge to audiences and in a doco about schizophrenia and mental health in 'Angels & Demons' by Oz's premium interviewer Andrew Denton (ABC)". AA MEdia
A bit about me…
Goodness, how does one describe what it's like to live with music in your visions, to see it, to feel as if the everyday world turns on twisted cogs that are strange and undisciplined? Therefore, I am an artist-intern of all media, not just because I studied it or use it as a personal vendetta against the world, but it's how I can process life. Because some things cannot be spoken in words, this is how I can show you.
I really enjoy creating new music, the buzz you get when a song just works is fantastic. I'd also like to intro you to my band sometimes known as HOTEL ECHO, which has more buzz than an outback telegraph pole in a thunderstorm. The first gig we did as a band, was the International Mental Health Conference in Melbourne, we thought we sounded pretty good so we kept going. Now we've done hundreds. We also got down to work playing more shows, recording a great new album and saying some funny jokes and useful anecdotes on radio and on telly...
Please feel free to make contact, tell us your story if you feel like it.
I'm also out here to be booked to come and perform, speak, juggle or do amateur cartwheels at your organisation or work place.
